A member of the cabinet has said that the government will build similar monuments for martyrs on all the killing grounds across the country so that those are easily identified.
"We have prepared a list of 360 killing grounds," said Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Saturday while inaugurating the Domar Upazila Muktijoddha Bhaban as the chief guest in Nilphamari.
He said it is necessary to inspire the young generation with the spirit of the Liberation War for taking the country forward.
Agency reports quoting the minister say the government is working to reach freedom fighters' allowances to their homes so that they don't have to go to the banks to collect the allowances.
The textbooks, he said, would be printed with success stories of the liberation war alongside names of Razakars with their heinous activities so that the students can get the right information about the Freedom Fighters and Razakars.
Chaired by Domar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Begum Umme Fatima, the programme was also addressed, among others, by lawmaker Aftab Uddin Sarkar, acting deputy commissioner M Shahinur Alam and local freedom fighters.
