A local leader of Jubo League leader was stabbed to death and his brother injured in an attack by their rivals at Charabari village in Chougaccha upazila of Jashore district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Barik, 45, joint general secretary of no 3 ward unit Jubo League and son of Abdul Barik of the village.
Quoting brother of the victim, police said a group of youths swooped on Barik when he along with his brother Anisur was catching fish from a pond around 10:30am and stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving Barik and Anisur injured.
Later, the injured were taken to a local hospital where doctors declared Barik dead, reports UNB.
