Kalabagan Krira Chakra president accused in narcotics, arms acts cases

Two cases under narcotics control and arms acts were filed against Kalabagan Krira Chakra President Safiqul Alam Firoz and four of his office staff on Saturday.

Md Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station, said the men will be produced before the court later in the day, reports UNB.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained the five men on Friday and recovered a pistol and yaba from the Krira Chakra club office in Kalabagan.

Firoz is a former member of Krishak League’s central committee.

During the raid, RAB said, they also recovered coins used in gambling, 572 packets of cards and bullets.

On the same day, Jubo League’s central leader GK Shamim was arrested from Niketan area with illegal firearms and a huge amount of money.

On Wednesday, RAB arrested Jubo League leader Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan from Gulshan for reportedly running an illegal casino.
