Khulna Awami League’s acting general secretary Gazi Abdul Hadi died at a hospital in capital Dhaka on Sunday night. He was 65.
Abdul Hadi who was undergoing treatment at Square Hospitals since Saturday breathed his last there at 8:00pm.
Earlier on Friday, Hadi, also former chairman of Dumuria Upazila, was taken to a local hospital in Khulna after he suffered a heart attack and then moved to Dhaka.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held at Shahid Hadis Park here around 10:00am while the second one at Dumuria High School playground around 11:30am.
He will be buried at his family graybeard at Shahapur village in Dumuria after Asr prayers, a news agency reported.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also Awami League President, and its general secretary Obaidul Quader expressed deep shock at the death of the AL leader.
