An active member of local unit of Krishak League was stabbed to death allegedly by some miscreants at Baburbazar in the municipality area of Netrokona district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Abul Khayer Masum, 45, son of late Abdul Mukith of Bahirchapra village in sadar upazila.
Fakhruzzaman Jewel, additional superintendent of Netrokona Police, said miscreants stabbed Abul Khayer with a sharp weapon indiscriminately around 6:30pm, leaving him severely injured.
Later, locals took him to Netrokona Sadar Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead, reports a news agency.
He might have been killed over establishing supremacy in the area, the police super added.
