Man dies in AL factional clash in Magura

A man was killed and 20 others were injured after a clash occurred between two factions of Awami League in Magura on Saturday morning.

The dead man was Alam Sheikh, 35, son of Tujam Sheikh of Amuria village.

According to Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, there had been a long standing dispute between local Awami League leaders Sohel Mollah and Tipu Sheikh.

On Saturday, their supports attacked each other with sharp weapons at the village in sadar upazila at around 7:00 am, leaving Alam dead on the spot and 20 others injured.

Police then rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, UNB reported.

Around 10 injured people were admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital and a case was filed.
