A grandmother and her granddaughter have been killed after a Kalnaghat-bound truck hit a three-wheeler easy bike carrying them on Narail-Lohagora road in Narail Sadar upazila Tuesday noon.
The deceased Manoja Begum (45) of Bagdanga village, wife of Sirajul Islam along with her grand-daughter Sadia (3), was going to Narail from Nidinkhola village when the incident occurred, according to police.
The truck has been seized but the driver managed to flee the scene, said Md Anwar Hossen, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Thana.
Two bodies have been sent to Narail Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A case has been filed in this connection, says a local news agency report.
