Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has visited her relative and Zayan Chowdhary's grandfather Sheikh Fazle Karim Selim at his residence in Banani.

Sheikh Hasina arrived at the house around 2:35 pm on Wednesday, reports bdnews24.com.

The house in Banani's Rd no. 2/A which used to be enlivened by the presence of young Zayan is now gripped by the grief of his passing.

Hasina's arrival sparked emotional scenes at the residence as relatives, including Sheikh Selim, broke into tears.

The prime minister minister offered prayers for the departed Zayan and consoled the bereaved family.

She later left the resident around 3:50 pm.

Zayan will be laid to rest at the Banani Graveyard after the Asr prayers on Wednesday.

Selim's daughter Sheikh Amina Sultana Sonia, her husband Moshiul Haque Chowdhary Prince, and their two sons went to visit Sri Lanka recently.

They were staying at a hotel in Colombo that came under attack along with four churches and several hotels during Easter Sunday celebrations.

Prince and his elder son Zayan were at the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel for breakfast at the time of the bomb blast while Sonia and their younger son Zohan Chowdhary were in their room during the blast.

Speaking to Bangladeshi expatriates in Brunei on Sunday, Hasina revealed that members of her family were among the victims of the attacks.

She informed them that Prince was injured in the incident while Zayan had gone missing while seeking prayers for the family.

Later in the night, an aide to family confirmed the news of Zayan’s death to bdnews24.com.

His father Prince is currently in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in Colombo after undergoing a few surgeries.
