Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested five people with fake medicines and medicine making equipments in the city on Saturday.
The arrestees were identified as Md Abdus Sibahan, Md Naimur Rahman, Md Riazul Islam, Nargis Begum and Md Wahid.
Acting on a tip-off, the serious crime unit of DMP conducted the drive in the city’sa Jatrabari area and arrested the five culprits.
Around 90,000 pieces of different types of medicines and other related item were seized from their possession, said DMP Additional commissioner (DB) Md Abdul Baten on Sunday.
These people were involved in making fake medicines and selling them for long, he added.
