Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife in Panchagarh’s sadar upazila on Thursday.
The victim was Pabitra Rani, 22, wife of Krishna Chandra Roy of Goaljhar Pakhilagaon village.
According to police, inmates of Rani’s house were off to a temple on Thursday to celebrate Durga Puja leaving her alone at home.
On return, family members found Rani hanging from a tree near their house, UNB reported.
After reporting the incident, police recovered the body and sent it to Panchagarh Modern Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Deen Mohammad, sub-inspector of Panchagarh Police Station.
It is still unclear whether Rani committed suicide or her murder was staged, said police.
