A schoolboy was found dead at his house at Hamdah in Jhenaidah district town on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Samiul Alam, a class VI student of Jhenaidah Government Boys' School and son of Alamgir Hossain, former chairman of Kalicharanpur union.

Mother of the victim Shahida Parveen, a service holder, returned to her house from office and found Samiul's body lying on the floor, said Kanak Kumar Das, additional superintendent of Jhenaidah Sadar circle.

After being notified, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue, UNB reported.

Police suspected that miscreants during loot have strangulated Samiul to death in absence of the parents at the house as some gold ornaments along with other valuables were missing.
