BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will appear before a special court here on Thursday and deliver her self-defence statement further in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
According to a UNB report Khaleda will go to the court around 11:00am on Wednesday.
Khaleda started presenting her self-defence statement in the case before the makeshift court of Special Judge-5 at Bakshibazar on October 19.
As she could not complete her statement during the last four consecutive hearings, the court on November 9 gave her further time to end it onThursday.
On July 3, 2008, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case with Ramna Police Station accusing Khaleda Zia, her eldest son Tarique Rahman, and four others for misappropriating over Tk 21.0 million that came as grants from a foreign bank for orphans.
On August 8, 2011, the commission filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four people, including Khaleda Zia, of abuse of power in raising funds for the trust from unknown sources.
