Rab arrests five with yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested five suspected drug traderes along with 31,000 peices of yaba pills from Linkroad BSCIC area in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday night.

The arrestees were identified as Afjal Sardar, 68, son of late Ishak Sardar, Milon Hossain, 35, son of late Shahjahan, Mosharrof Hosasin, 42, son of late Rahman Sardar, Jahirul Islam, 52, son of Humayun Kabir, all hailing from Mouchha Mandra village in Laohajang Upazila of Munshiganj district and Shefali Begum, 30, daughter of late Shahed Ali Fakir of Lebutala Uttarpara village in Goplaganj Sadar upazila.

On information, a team of Rab-7 put a special checkpost at the place and intercepted a Cox's Bazar bound bus around 9:15pm, according to press release issued by Rab-7 on Friday.

Later, the elite forces detained the five and seized the contraband tablets from their possession.

The estimated value of the seized tablets is around TK 10.55 million, the release added.
