Road crashes claim three lives in Dhaka

At least three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Mirpur and Banani areas of Dhaka.

Two of the dead have been identified as Razzak, 46, and Zahidur Rahman Dudu, 45. The third victim is an unidentified man, aged about 27 years, reports bdnews24.

Police said Razzak and Dudu were on a motorcycle headed from Savar to Mirpur around 10:15pm on Sunday when they were struck by a car in front of the Chatbari Water Development Board offices in Rupnagar and critically injured.

They were taken to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared them dead, Rupnagar Police Station Inspector Md Golam Rabbani said.

The two traders were friends and hailed from Naogaon, said the report.

The unidentified victim was involved in an accident in front of the Army Stadium Road in Banani around 6:15am on Monday. He was wearing jeans and a check shirt.

He was hurrying across the road when he was struck by a bus, said Banani Police Station SI Md Yusuf citing locals. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
