Road mishap leaves three dead in Bagura

Three people were killed as a covered van hit them on Dhaka-Bogra highway at Sonka Bazar under Sherpur upazila in Bagura on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Sadek Ali, 55, Al Mahmud, 35 and Mohsin Ali, 52, residents of Sonka South village.

Kajal Kumar Nandi, in-charge of Kundarhat highway police camp, said the Dhaka-bound covered van run over the three pedestrians around 12:00pm as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving them dead on the spot.

Police seized the covered van, but the driver managed to flee the scene, reports UNB.
