Sate Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Thursday expected that Rupsha 800MW Combined Cycle Power plant will commence its generation in June 2021.
“We have floated tender for construction of the power plant on 50 acres of abandoned land of Khulna newsprint mill,” he said this, while replying to a starred question from treasury bench member Sheikh Nurul Haque of Khulna-6 in the Jatiya Sangsad.
The state minister said the power plant will be constructed under North-West Power Generation Company with Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Islami Development Bank (IDB) finance.
He said the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has already approved the detail project proposal (DPP) of the plant on May 22, 2018, reports BSS.
