Three-day Muktisangram Fest begins at JU

A three-day cultural festival began on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Monday to spread the spirit of the Liberation War.

Jahangirnagar University authorities, in association with the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), arranged 'Muktisangram Sanskritik Utshob-2019'.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam inaugurated the programme at Zahir Raihan auditorium in the morning. A number of freedom fighters were honoured there.

Jute and Textile Minister Gazi Golam Dostogir inaugurated art camp at the venue in the afternoon, while Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Md Anamur Rahman, Deputy Minister of Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Management Director of Beacon Pharmaceuticals Abadul Karim Bulbul and Nurunnobi Chowdhory Shawan, among others, attended the festival.

The three-day festival will have discussion sessions, honour important persons for their contribution to Liberation War, art camp, Jagoroner Gaan, drama, art camps, cinema exhibition and cultural programmes, reports UNB.

Prof Bashir Ahmed, convener of the programme, said, "In continuation of last two years, we arranged the cultural festival to spread the spirit of Liberation War. The festival will end on March 27."
