Two die as train runs over in Tangail

A woman and her grandson were killed when a train hit them in Dhalatengor area under Kalihati upazila of Tangail district on Friday morning.

The deceased are Sufia Begum, 60, wife of Kalu Miah, a resident of Rasulpur village under Ghatail upazila of the district and her grandson Ahad Ali, 5, son of Sabur Ali, according to BSS.

Sub Inspector of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station Nur-a-Alam said the accident occurred in the area when Dhaka-bound train “Ekota Express” hit the duo while they were walking on the rail track. Both of them died on the spot.
