Members of Narcotics Department in a drive arrested two people along with 100 kgs of hemp at Islampur under Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria on Thursday.
The arrestees were identified as Manna Mia, 41, son of Mantu Mia of Islampur village, and Jamal, 18, son of Yusuf Ali of Char Islampur village in the upazila.
Tipped off, a team of Narcotics Control Department, led by its assistant director Md Bahauddin, conducted a drive in the area and arrested them along with the hemp, UNB reported.
The team could not arrest three others as they fled the scene.
A case was filed with Bijoynagar Police Station.
