Two including minor killed after Netrokona bridge collapses

A young labourer and a minor boy were killed after an under-construction bridge collapsed upon them at Paikura village in Mohonganj upazila of Netrokona on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Tamim, 7, son of Habi Mia of the same village and Rifat, 18 the labour, hailing from Nakla upazila of Sherpur district.

Officer-in-charge of Mohanganj Police Station Ansari Zannat Ali said a pillar of the under-construction bridge fell upon the duo while they were taking their baths in the pond under the bridge, leaving Tamim dead on the spot and Rifat severely injured.

Later, Rifat was rushed to Mohanganj Health Complex in wounded state, where he succumbed to his injuries, reports UNB.
