Two minor cousins drown in Chandpur pond

Two minor cousins drowned in a pond at Khajuria Laxmipur village in Kachua upazila of Chandpur on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Tanvir, 6, son of Jamal Hossain of Kachua upazila and Siam, 6, son of Sumon Mia of Haziganj upazila.

Shahriar Shaheen, chairman of Gohat Union Parishad, said Tanvir and Siam fell into the pond while playing near it in the afternoon.

Later, locals recovered their bodies from the pond after a frantic search and took them to Haziganj Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared them dead, according to a UNB report.
