A woman and her sister-in-law died from electrocution at Dakhshin Chambol village of Banshkhali upazila in Chattogram on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Rezia Begum, 40, wife of late Zaker Ahmed and her sister-in-law Fatema Begum.
Md Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Banshkhali thana, said that Rezia came in contact with a live electric wire while hanging her cloth on the wire.
Fatema also got electrocuted as she tried to rescue Rezia.
Being rescued by locals, they were rushed to Banshkhali Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared the duo dead, reports UNB.
