The Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecasts a decrease in rainfall in the next 72 hours as a depression over the Bay of Bengal weakens and moves north-northeast.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in other parts of the country.

Night and day temperatures are likely to fall slightly across the country.

A depression over the Bay of Bengal has been causing heavy rainfall over areas in Bangladesh.

Under its influence, heavy to very heavy downpours occurred in the Khulna, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions throughout Friday.

The Met Office recorded 149mm of rainfall in the Dhaka district between 6am on Friday and 6am on Saturday. Gopalganj experienced 271mm of rainfall in the same period.
