A total of 6,508 auto-rickshaws were registered with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) across the country in the first three months of the current calendar year.
Of them, 3,489 got registration in Dhaka, according to the transport regulator.
A total of 21,638 auto-rickshaws were registered alone in 2018, the BRTA data showed.
The data also revealed that 274,812 such modes of vehicles were enlisted till 2018.
