Two people were killed when a private car carrying them plunged into a roadside ditch in Rajbari early Thursday.
The fatal accident left driver Manir Hossain, 32, and passenger Ripon Quadir, 30 dead. They were from Manikganj and Tangail districts respectively.
According to SM Abu Farhad, officer-in-charge of Kalukhali Police Station, the occurrence happened at Shyamsundar in Kalukhali upazila at around 1:30 am. Driver Manir reportedly lost control over the steering of the Khalukhai-bound vehicle and plunged into a roadside ditch. The mishap left them dead, UNB reported.
After being informed, police went to the spot and recovered the bodies. The bodies were then sent to local hospital for autopsy.
