Feature writers' conference held

A day-long conference of young feature writers was held recently at Dhanmondi area in Dhaka with the slogan ‘Lekhar Golpo, Golper Lekha’ (story of writing, writing for story).

Around 60 feature writers from different universities; including Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, Chittagong University and Rajshahi University; attended the conference.

The conference was organised at the auditorium of University of Development Alternative (UODA) on Friday, said a press release.

Shafiqul Alam, Bangladesh bureau chief of Agence France-Presse, delivered the keynote speech at the conference.

Sanaul Haque Dolon, chief reporter of ATN Bangla; Iftekhar Mahmud, senior reporter of the daily Prothom Alo; eminent writer and director Sadat Hossain shared their experiences.

Apart from, AKM Moinuddin, special reporter of UNB; former sub-editor of Kalerkantha Omar Shahed; Barek Kaiser, feature writer of daily Ittefaq, also addressed the event as the resource persons.

Founder of CEFAD foundation (complete education for alternative development) and freedom fighter Prof Mujib Khan shared the role of writers during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971.

Mutasim Billah, feature writer and Bangladesh correspondent of Anadulu Agency of Turkey, coordinated the programme.

The registration process was stared from September 10 and more than hundred students submitted applications for registration.
