A housewife was hacked to death by miscreants at Pachuabari village in Faridpur upazila in Pabna early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Sathi Khatun, 20, wife of Mizanur Rahman of Tiapara in the upazila.
Quoting family members, Sajib Shahrin, superintendent of Pabna police (Chatmoor circle), said Mizanur, who married Sathi four years ago, tortured her regularly over family feud.
Sathi came to her parent’s house about a month ago following a conjugal dispute, UNB reported.
Miscreants broke into her room around 3:30am and attacked her with sharp weapons when she was sleeping with her sister. She was killed on the spot.
Sathi’s father Abdul Majid blamed Mizanur for the murder.
