Musical show at Pakistan High Commission

The High Commission of Pakistan, Dhaka Saturday organised a musical night at its chancery in the city in memory of poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz.

Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat and a number of ambassadors and high commissioners were present at the function.

Bangladeshi dignitaries including retired ambassadors, civil servants, journalists, artistes and civil society members also attended the musical programme.

Leading local vocalists Nashid Kamal and Showlopi enthralled the audience with their scintillating performance.

Former official of Civil Service of Pakistan Inam Chowdhury recited English translation of Faiz’s poetry.

High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh Rafiquzzaman Siddiqui who also sang a song at the function thanked everybody for their enthusiastic participation in the function.
