Next South Asia Maritime Forum to be held in Dubai

The 3rd South Asia Maritime and Logistics Forum-2019 will be held in Dubai.

Shipping Secretary Md Abdus Samad revealed the information at the closing ceremony of second South Asia Maritime and Logistics Forum at hotel Le Meridien on Wednesday.

Different issues including development and possible investment in shipping sector, barriers in regional trade and solution of those, ship building, dredging, bunkering, innovation of new technologies and other contemporary issues were discussed in the two-day forum held on October 9-10.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the forum on October 9.

On October 9, a plenary session on “Investment Opportunity and Infrastructural Development in Maritime Sector of Bangladesh” was held. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed attended it as the chief guest.

On the second day, four business and valedictory sessions were held.

First conference of the forum was held in Mumbai last year, reports BSS.
