Three of a family drowned in Faridpur

Three children of a family drowned in a pond at Kathalbaria village of Nurallahgonj union in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Jimi Akter, 7, Sajjad, 3, children of Jamiluddin Matubbor and Rimi Akter, 6, daughter of Basar Matubbor. Basar Matubbor is the brother of Jamiluddin Matubbor.

Family sources said that the three children drowned into the pond while taking bath around 1:00pm, reports BSS.

Later, locals rescued the children and rushed them to Bishwa Zaker Manjil Hospital where doctors declared them dead, said Saidur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhanga Police Station.

Jimi and Sajjad, who used to live in Sadarpur area in the upazila, went to their uncle’s house to attend an Iftar mahfil.
