Uttara University celebrates 6th convocation

Uttara University has celebrated its 6th convocation at Nobo Ratri Hall, Bashundhara Convention Center-04, in the capital recently.  

Education Minister, Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid was present at the function as the chief guest, says a media release.

“Uttara University has been able to prove that it is not only a centre of receiving quality education but also a place of bringing out the changes of social and economic trends,” he said.

The minister said, “Only this type of university can create the platform for students to prove their potentiality in a certain period of time.”

“Uttara University has relentlessly been providing this service from its foundation time,” he added.

Mr. Abdul Mannan, Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Bangladesh, was present at the programme as the convocation speaker.

The UGC chairman said, “Convocation is a very important and blessed programme for the student because through this programme, students get their formal recognition as graduates which will encourage them to grow self-confidence.”

“This is the turning point students’ life. I believe that Uttara University has played an important role to make students confident to choose their right profession and they have got proper training about how they will become successful in life, he said.

“I think the students of this university will not only enlighten themselves, they will be remarkable for their outstanding contribution in developing our society as well as our country,” Mr. Mannan said.

Prof. Dr. M. Azizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University, welcomed the guests, participants and the graduate students in particular.

Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Uttara University, expressed her wholehearted thanks towards the participants of the programme in her thanksgiving speech.

Mr. Kazi Mahiuddin, Registrar of the university, also extended his heartiest thanks to the participants of this 6th Convocation-2018.

Different parliament members, intellectuals, high government officials, trustee board members from different universities, Vice-Chancellors and Pro Vice-Chancellors of different public and private universities were also present at the event.
