Yidan Prize Foundation on Monday awarded its Inaugural Yidan Prize Laureates in recognition of their distinguished contributions to global education and to help fund their future work.

They are Carol S. Dweck, Yidan Prize for Education Research Inaugural Laureate and Vicky Colbert, Yidan Prize for Education Development Inaugural Laureate, according to a media statement.

Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, GBM, GBS, handed over the world’s largest education prize at a presentation ceremony in Hong Kong.

Each laureate received HK$30 million (about US$3.87 million) to recognise their distinguished contributions to global education and to help fund their future work, according to a media statement.

The laureates are selected by a judging committee chaired by Dr Koichiro Matsuura, former director-general of UNESCO, which comprises two independent judging panels.
