Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation is set to launch a month-long cyber security awareness campaign across the country on Monday.

To mark October as the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), the CCA Foundation has taken up the initiative.

The NCSAM is worlwide promoted by the National Cyber security Alliance (NCSA) of the USA under the Department of Homeland Security

This year's theme of the NCSAM is ‘securing the internet is our shared responsibility’.

CCA Foundation president Kazi Mustafiz stressed the need for raising awareness across the country all the time, saying, "It is now very essential like our everyday meals."

"There is no alternative to creating awarness among the users of cyber technology to protect them," he told the FE, adding that collective efforts are vitally important to fight the global menace.

The campaign will be conducted by the CCA Foundation from October 1 to 29, putting focus on a different topic, consistent with this year's NCSAM theme, each week.

Those topics are respectively Make Your Home a Haven for Online Safety, Millions of Rewarding Jobs: Educating for a Career in Cybersecurity, It's Everyone's Job to Ensure Online Safety at Work and Safeguarding the Nation's Critical Infrastructure.

The NCSAM has gained quite popolarity across the world, reaching out to consumers, small and medium-sized businesses, corporations, educational institutions and young people across the nation.

This year marks the 15th year of the National Cyber Security Awareness Month, or NCSAM.

The CCA Foundation has been observing the NCSAM since 2016 in Bangladesh, turning out to be its official champion.
