The securities regulator has warned Standard Insurance for not submitting its audited financial statements timely to the commission.

The decision was taken at a meeting of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) at its office in the capital on Tuesday.

The regulator said that the company had failed to submit the audited financial statements for the year ended on December 31, 2015 within stipulated timeframe and breached the securities rules.

"The company had also not submitted the first quarterly statement for the period ended on March 31, 2016 within the stipulated timeframe," it said.

The regulator has decided to warn the company as it breached the securities rules related to submission of financial statements, the BSEC said.

Standard Insurance, presently an 'A' category company, was listed with the stock exchanges in 2008.
