DSE continues declining trend on Monday

Stocks on the Dhaka bourse on Monday witnessed a declining trend for the second consecutive session due to correction witnessed by the major sectors.

On the day, losers also took control over the gainers like the previous session.

From the beginning of the session, DSEX, the broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started to lose points.

The trend continued for an hour as most of the securities from bank, financial institutions, fuel & power, and engineering sectors went red.    

After one hour of the session, the DSE broad index lost 0.68 per cent or 37.11 points to close at 5378.13 points.

The Shariah based index DSES lost 0.64 per cent or 8.08 points to close at 1242.06 points.

The DS30 index comprising blue chip securities also declined 0.43 per cent or 8.32 points to close at 1888.89 points.

Of the total issues are being traded, 46 advanced, 221 declined, and 29 were unchanged within one hour of the session.

And the turnover value stood at above Tk 1.55 billion on the floor of country's premier bourse.

Khulna Power Company was on top of turnover chart with a value of Tk 221 million followed by Shasha Denims, United Power Generation and Distribution Company, and BBS Cables.
