The securities regulator will observe the 'World Investors Week 2018' in October to create awareness among the general investors.
The week will be observed as per the declaration of International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), a global cooperative of securities regulatory bodies.
During the week, the regulator will arrange seminars, workshops, and discussion meetings to be participated by general investors and stakeholders of the capital market.
Mohammad Saifur Rahman, an executive director of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), said the objective of the week is to create awareness among the general investors.
"The week will be observed in a limited scale this year. The regulator will finalise the schedule of different programmes soon," he said.
The stock exchanges, merchant banks and asset management companies are expected to provide necessary supports for observing the week.
The BSEC observed the World Investors Week 2017 in a broader scale.
