The number of truck registration in the country stood at 6,177 alone between January and August 2019, according to an official data.
Of the total, 4627 trucks were registered in Dhaka during the period, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) statistics.
A total of 12,663 such vehicles were registered in 2018 while it was 10,353 in 2017, the transport regulator data showed.
