Emirates to expand footprint in Bangladesh

Emirates wants to harness the potential of Bangladesh market, a fast growing aviation market, using its expanding global network, award winning services in the air and on the ground, official said.

It also offering specific services to the local travellers as the airlines considers Bangladesh as one of the most important destinations in its global network.

Bangladesh is a fast growing aviation market with annual growth rate much more than that of global average.

Saeed Abdulla Miran, the newly appointed Emirates Area Manager for Bangladesh, was talking to the media representatives of Sylhet at a press meet held at a city hotel recently.

He briefed the media about the Dubai based airlines’ operations in Bangladesh and special features of the airline’s products and services, said a media release.

Mr Miran, “Emirates started its operations in Bangladesh on October 27, 1986 with two weekly flights.”

“Dhaka was the 8th destination in our international network, which underpins the importance that Emirates imparts to the country.”

“Since then, our partnership has continued blossoming with Emirates offering world class services to Bangladeshi travellers,” said the area manager.

“Now Emirates operates three daily services from Dhaka with most modern wide-body Boeing 777-300 aircraft offering flexibility to passengers in choosing convenient for them flights.”

The airline offers customers from Bangladesh the opportunity to experience travelling via Dubai to 157 destinations in 85 countries including 40 in Europe and 11 in US (12 gateways).

Emirates offer flights to 8 gateways in UK, which is home to thousands of people from the Sylhet region.

“Emirates maintains its own office in Sylhet and offers complimentary air conditioned bus service for its passengers from the region”, Saeed informed.

“Passengers can enjoy over 3,500 channels in our award winning in flight entertainment system – ice, with a selection of Bengali movies and dedicated TV channels for Bangladeshi customers,” he said.

The official also informed that they offer specially created sub-continental regional menus that suit the palates of our Bangladeshi customers on all Emirates flights.

“In addition, our bilingual cabin-crew is always there to facilitate our Bangladeshi travellers on-board. Emrates offers up to 20 MB complimentary data for each passenger,” Saeed added.

“For the convenience of our Bangladeshi customers, we are now offering short stay Dubai visa at Emirates sales counter without any hassle,” said the Emirates area manager.
