Seven entrepreneurs win Colors Platinum Business Women Awards 2019

Seven women successful in business received the ‘Colors Platinum Business Women Awards 2019’ at a function at the InterContinental Dhaka recently.

State minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, high commissioner of India to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das, general manager of InterContinental Dhaka Marc Reissinger, and additional managing director of City Bank Sheikh Mohammad Maroof attended the award-giving ceremony.

The programme, held on Saturday evening, brought together dignitaries and corporate, showbiz and media personalities, said a press release received on Monday.

Colors, a lifestyle magazine being published from Dhaka and New York, with support from City Alo, organised the event to recognise the contributions and potential of young Bangladesh women entrepreneurs.

A high-profile panel of judges nominated the winners in seven categories – Platinum Business Woman of the Year, Business Enterprise of the Year, SME Enterprise of the Year, Innovative Project of the Year, Start-up of the Year, Innovative Solution of the Year in Information Technology and Rising Star of the Year.

Rumana Chowdhury of Warah won Platinum Business Woman of the Year Award, Sausan Khan Moyeen of Enchanted Events & Prints, the Business Enterprise of the Year, Tania Wahab of Karigar the SME Enterprise of the Year, Amena Khatun of Nila& Sons the Innovative Project of the Year,  Trina Falguni of Sugar Communications Limited the Start-up of the Year, Fahmida Islam of La mode the Innovative Solution of the Year in IT and Nabila Nowrin and Nahid Sharmin of Moar the Rising Star of the Year. 

Editor and publisher of Colors Zakaria Masud also addressed the event, explaining why the awards were introduced and thanking all clients and patrons.

InterContinental Dhaka was the hospitality partner of the awards, powered by JCX.
