Could Dropshipping businesses boost Bangladesh's e-commerce even further?

According to studies, e-commerce transactions in Bangladesh will grow exponentially as the number of internet users increases at unprecedented rates. Dropshipping, which is a new retail method of selling goods online, could boost the numbers even further.

Dropshipping is a retail method where a store does not keep any product. Instead, it displays products from suppliers such as Ali Express or eBay. When a customer purchases from the website, the Dropshipping company buys the product at its wholesale price which is way below the retail price and orders the product to be directly shipped to the customer.

In today's highly competitive environment, retails are always looking for new and innovative ways boost their profits by either increasing their revenues or decreasing their costs. And this is where Dropshipping shines.

The low cost of entry into Dropshipping makes it a very attractive business for new entrepreneurs. There are no costs of inventory, labour, rent, insurance  etc. The wholesaler does the vast majority of the job, the retailer only has to direct traffic to their products.

With all that in mind, we can hope to see an increase in the number of Dropshipping businesses and along with it, a boost in the e-commerce sector of the country.
