Saudi Arabia has clarified that a Hajj visa strictly permits travel within the cities of Jeddah, Medina, and Mecca.

In a regulations issued for 2024 pilgrimage season, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the kingdom said a Hajj visa is not valid for work, residency, or travel outside the three cities.

Violations of the regulations will potentially lead to a ban on future Hajj participation and deportation, according to a report published by Gulf News.

“The visa is only valid for the duration of the Hajj season, and holders are also not allowed to perform Umrah during this time or engage in any employment, paid or unpaid,” the report said citing the Saudi Arabian ministry.
