Floods following heavy rains from Wednesday evening to Thursday in several provinces of Tunisia caused five dead and two missing, Tunisia's interior ministry said.
The heavy rains caused significant material and infrastructure damages in several provinces. Some agglomerations were invaded by water which forced Tunisian authorities to evacuate civilians to collective shelters, reports Xinhua.
Prime Minister Youssef Chahed sent six of his ministers to the most affected provinces by these heavy rains, in order to ensure the delivery of the necessary human assistance to civilians and affected areas.
