The united State has recently signed an agreement granting Jordan $1.275 billion a year through 2022, an additional financial support for the kingdom.
The chairman of a US Senate panel dealing with foreign aid said that the Congress is likely to authorise the additional support.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, said that he hopes everyone in the US "understands how important it is for this kingdom to survive."
The republican said this while talking with reporters in Jordan as he and six other senators visiting the country as a key US security ally in the region.
He says the senators will talk to the International Monetary Fund "about taking some pressure off" Jordan regarding economic austerity measures.
Jordan has suffered an economic downturn and rising unemployment, raising fears of growing instability, in part because of fallout from conflicts in neighbouring Syria and Iraq.
