The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has decided to call off its agitation "in good faith" after the government agreed to withdraw all cases filed against student protesters.
The announcements were made during a joint press conference attended by Union ministers Jitendra Singh and JP Nadda, along with CJP spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, according to a Hindustan Times report.
The breakthrough came after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, the principal demand of the CJP-led protest.
With that demand met, two key issues remained on the table: compensation of ₹1 crore each for the families of students who died by suicide following the NEET-UG paper leak, and an assurance that no legal action would be taken against those who participated in the protests.
