The country's second-largest mobile operator reported a profit after tax of Tk 4.95 billion for the January-June period, up 29.2 per cent from Tk 3.83 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.

Earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk 0.95 for the first six months of 2026 from Tk 0.73 in the same period last year, according to the company's unaudited financial statements released on Tuesday.

Robi's revenue increased 7.0 per cent year-on-year to Tk 52.43 billion during the January-June period, mainly supported by continued growth in data revenue and higher earnings from mobile services.

Despite the strong half-year performance, the telecom operator posted only a modest increase in second-quarter earnings.

Profit after tax for the April-June quarter stood at Tk 2.63 billion, marking a 2.1 per cent increase from Tk 2.57 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2025.

Quarterly revenue, however, crossed the Tk 27 billion mark for the first time in more than a year, rising 6.1 per cent year-on-year to Tk 27.12 billion from Tk 25.55 billion.

Mobile services remained the company's key growth engine, with mobile revenue increasing 5.4 per cent to Tk 24.60 billion, accounting for more than 90 per cent of total quarterly revenue.

The operator also continued to strengthen its market position through subscriber growth.

Its total subscriber base reached 58.6 million at the end of June, compared with 57.4 million a year earlier. Data subscribers rose to 46.2 million from 44.1 million, reflecting sustained demand for mobile internet services across the country.

Robi's shares closed at Tk 32.60 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday, gaining 0.31 per cent over the previous trading session.
