The final match and prize-giving ceremony of the AIUB Inter-College Football Championship 2026, organized by American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB), was held on Saturday, May 23, at the AIUB campus.
A total of 41 college teams from across the Dhaka Division participated in this year’s tournament, according to a media release.
In the final match, BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola faced Dhaka College in a highly competitive contest.
After the match ended in a 1–1 draw in regulation time, BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola secured the championship title through a thrilling tiebreaker victory, while Dhaka College emerged as the runners-up.
Rafsan of BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola was awarded the Man of the Final, while Nayeem of the same institution received the Man of the Series award for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor of AIUB, attended the prize-giving ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Also present were Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Dr. Ziarat Hossain Khan, Deputy Director of Student Services and Welfare; Abu Mia Akanda Tuhin, Head of Public Relations; along with other senior university officials, representatives of participating colleges, and students.
The overall supervision of the championship was conducted by Md. Joynal Abedin, Coordinator of the AIUB Office of Sports.
