Posters for the Bangladesh Chhatra League, the banned student wing of the Awami League, have once again appeared on different walls at Chittagong University.

The posters were pasted at the Faculty of Sociology, BBA Faculty, Kata Pahar Road, and other areas on Sunday night, bdnews24.com reports.

The posters, published on the 46th anniversary of Sheikh Hasina's return to Bangladesh after exile, call for another comeback for the Awami League chief.

The official Facebook page of Bangladesh Chhatra League published a picture of a poster with the caption, “Chittagong University Chhatra League postering activities on the occasion of the historic homecoming day of Bangabandhu’s daughter, national leader, Desh Ratna Sheikh Hasina.”

Previously, Chhatra League posters were seen on various walls of the university on April 27 and on the university’s shuttle train on May 11.

When asked, Assistant Proctor Prof Kamrul Hossain said that such incidents have happened regularly.

"With the number of security personnel we have, it is difficult to keep the entire campus under 100 percent surveillance. Each security staff member is responsible for a different location. Taking this opportunity, someone puts up posters through timing gaps and then takes pictures of them. However, the security personnel have been asked to be more vigilant so that such incidents can be reduced in the future."

He said, “Posters have been put up. There have been incidents of such postering about three times in the last week. We are also working on the CCTV cameras. Some of the cameras have been damaged or disconnected.”

“Such incidents are happening in different parts of the university. Arrangements are being made to install and repair new CCTVs quickly. Then surveillance will be easier.”

He said a decision will be taken after discussing the matter at the proctorial body meeting to be held on Sunday.
