Daffodil International University (DIU) has ranked first among private universities in Bangladesh and third overall among both public and private institutions in the Asia University Rankings 2026 published by Times Higher Education, according to a press release Saturday.

The university has also been placed in the 351–400 band in Asia, reflecting its growing reputation and academic strength at both national and regional levels.

DIU achieved an overall score of 38.22, based on five key performance indicators: teaching quality, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook.

The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings assess institutions using a range of criteria, including teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international collaboration. DIU has maintained a consistent presence in the Asia rankings in recent years.

University authorities said the latest recognition reflects ongoing efforts to improve academic standards, strengthen international partnerships and promote an innovation-driven learning environment.

As one of the private universities in the country, DIU continues its activities in higher education with a focus on academic development, research and global engagement, according to the statement.
