Preparations for the Silver Jubilee celebration of ‘Dhaka University Alumni 99-00,’ the platform for alumni of the 1999-2000 academic session of Dhaka University, have officially begun.
Ahead of the Silver Jubilee program scheduled for December 25, a special meeting was recently held between Professor Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, and the Executive Committee of the alumni organization, according to a media release.
At the meeting, held at the Vice-Chancellor's office, the Vice-Chancellor formally launched the official website and registration process for the celebration.
The inaugural meeting was attended by representatives of the session, led by Zakir Hossain, President, and Habib, General Secretary, of the Executive Committee of ‘Dhaka University Alumni 99-00.’
During the event, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam praised the initiative undertaken by the 1999-2000 session and wished the celebration overall success.
He expressed hope that the Silver Jubilee celebration would further strengthen the bonds among former students and encourage them to play a more effective role in the university's development.
The Executive Committee announced that the Silver Jubilee program will be formally inaugurated on December 25 with a colorful ceremony.
All former students of the 1999-2000 session, both at home and abroad, have been urged to complete their registration through the website as soon as possible, the release adds.
