Professor Yusuf Mahbubul appointed dean of SETS at IUB

Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, one of the pioneering scholars in computer science education and research in Bangladesh, has been appointed dean of School of Engineering, Technology and Science (SETS) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). 

Earlier, Professor Islam served as the vice chancellor of Daffodil International University (DIU) from 2015 to 2020. 

Professor Islam has 39 years of teaching and research experience at many institutions in Bangladesh, UK and Malaysia. He also worked as an adjunct professor at Open University Malaysia (OUM) from 2011 to 2014. 

Professor Islam was the associate professor of Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University.

He wrote several research papers, scientific and technical articles. His 17 credible papers were published in international journals and conferences. 

Professor Islam worked as consultant in many government projects.
